Evaluation of Production Enhancement proposals

CEC has directed SMI to evaluate the production enhancement proposals of leases of A & B category mines of Karnataka. The proposals are from the mines which have resumed the operations after successful implementation of R&R plan, enhanced resource base by exploration and/or addressed issues related to dump and road capacity.

SMI has completed production enhancement proposals for 50 mines out of the 56 proposals received.  Evaluation of 2 proposal is under process and evaluation of 4 proposals are pending as lessees’ inputs are awaited. 

Out of the 50 production enhancement reports submitted by FIMI-SMI:

• 39 have been approved by CEC on Technical Committee’s Report on SMI’s evaluation and 01 proposal was not considered by CEC.
• 09 proposals are pending at various levels at ICFRE/Technical Committee and 01 proposal is closed as lessee reinitiated the proposal afresh.
